Travel Offer: Quilqueihuanca Trek & Ascent of Maparaju, Huapi and Ishinca

Description: Our journey starts and ends in Lima. A private transfer brings you from the airport to the hotel in Lima and next morning to the Bus terminal. From there, you board a First class coach for your travel to Huaraz, where we will meet you and bring you to your hotel. For the next day, we plan an acclimatisation trip to the the turquoise waters of the lagoon Cheurup (4500 meters), where we spend our first night in higher altitude.

On day 3, the hike goes through the beautiful valley of Quilcayhuanca at the base of one of the most impressive peaks of the Cordillera Blanca, including the ice encrusted Cayesh tower. It is a long day with around 8 hours of hiking. The following day we use to further acclimatize our bodies and climb a further up to spend the night at the Cayash camp.

Day 5 is summit day for Maparaju, a climb witth crampons as we reach a glacier pleateau. We descend a bit for the night, then continue next day through the gorge with exciting views and maybe the chance to see the Andean condor. Next morning, we descend further. It is an easy day. On day 8, we walk to the pass that leads to Huapi to make our way to a summit with magnificent views of the Chichey mountain. Trekkers will be traveling through a pass between two deep glacial valleys with stunning 360 degree views.

Day 9 comes with a trek through Cojup Valley. Today, we will marvel at the power of nature, as we see the landslide of 1941, which caused a devastating flood that destroyed half of Huaraz. We will later camp on the shores of Perolcocha Lagoon below the eastern face Ranrapalca. The following day, we follow up with a technically easy ascent of Ishinca, with a beautiful view. We return to camp and spend another night there, before returning the next day to Huaraz to finalize our big trek. Day 12 is supposed to be a reserve day, and the next day  the bus for Lima awaits.
